According to carpet history sources, Azerbaijan, Caucasus and Anatolia were the ancient centers for this method of knitting. The hypothesis of this article is that fostering of Pichbaf kilim rug’ method between Afshar and Bichaghchi tribes in a certain juncture in history had related to these aforementioned areas. The method of screw knitting of kilim rug had been used by Afshar, Bichaghchi and Shul Tribes in Kerman province and ingrained with the art of native centers. Pichbaf kilim rug have been introduced by creativity and innovation of knitters of this area as the Shyryky screw kilim rug and played an important role in culture and economy of this area. The lack of valid history of this knitting, brief and incomplete mentions in some sources and their scientific incongruity with historical sources is the main reason for doing this research based on national and local carpet sources.
